Pi Day Axe/Shuriken Throw

Thank you Upper School Math Honor Society Students!

Any decision you make while running this Pi Day station is fine with me. It is your station to run and I trust your judgement. If you are having fun, the Middle School students at this station will be having fun. Last year I noticed that there was a long line to try this station. If you can find a way to organize students so they take turns and have an opportunity to try the station without too long of a wait, that would be great. Nearby, a whiteboard will display a geometry challenge problem: find the exact combined area of the blue and red portions of the target. The solution is hidden on the back of the whiteboard. Prizes in the form of Pi medallions (60 in total) may be awarded to those who solve the problem correctly. I hope the pictures below will help you visualize the station in advance of the Pi Day celebration on Monday, March 17. I will locate the station on the astroturf area nearby classroom J2. If you have any questions about the station, please email me and I will reply quickly.

                                                                                           Thank you!!
